“Atlanta thrives if all districts function at their best.”

Jamie believes that Atlanta thrives if all districts function at their best. For District 7, this means we invest in more policing, repairing potholes and removing metal plates, and providing transparency surrounding our taxes. This also means honoring the character of each neighborhood by maintaining the charm of Atlanta through intentional development in our district.

Infrastructure

Aging water lines and road conditions are serious concerns for District 7. I will work with both Atlanta Watershed Management and the City of Atlanta Department of Transportation to schedule repairs of aging water lines, along with timely road and street repairs.

Crime

I will ensure that the Buckhead Precinct is fully staffed and able to provide responses to calls in District 7. I will work with the city to crack down on thefts, robberies, assaults, and drug trafficking – especially in hotels.

Taxes

I will review budget and tax dollar allocations to ensure our money is being spent efficiently and effectively. I will cut unnecessary spending and require Atlanta tax dollars to be used only in Atlanta, rather than servicing Fulton County in its entirety. In addition, I will explore incentives for city departments to implement an audit’s recommendations, and advocate for at least two audits a year per city department.

“We deserve clarity on how our tax dollars are being spent, so we can challenge wasteful spending. We deserve to live in a community where green space thrives and is open to all. And, we deserve to live in a city that is low in crime, open to anyone regardless of socio-economic status, and enjoys a thriving southern culture.”
